Tract Number 46 Audio download at bottom of page ____________ ETERNITY What does the word “ETERNITY” mean to you? Webster says: infinite duration; unending existence. According to 2nd Corinthians 4:18, the things we can see are temporal (will not last forever) but the things that are not seen are eternal (will last forever) The next verse in chapter 5 goes on to tell what part is eternal. The soul of man is eternal, it will live forever somewhere. Every human that is born into this world is known of God, and if they live long enough to know right from wrong, God will give them a choice whether they will do good or evil. We know also that every soul has a bent or nature to go the wrong way. That is the reason we have to be born again to be a Christian. No one has ever lived good enough that God didn’t have to forgive them so they could be a Saint. Jesus said “except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Well “ETERNITY” is what we’re talking about. When the flesh of this old body dies, the flesh will return to the earth where it came from and the soul (the real you) will go into eternity to be with the one you served while in this life. And by the way, there are only two you can serve, God or the Devil. And also you can serve only one at the time. You can’t say you serve God and serve the devil at the same time, This is impossible. It would be like saying you are two different people at the same time. (A Saint and a sinner). Back to my thought on eternity. Every soul that God has ever made from Adam on down will be in eternity somewhere. Now the question is, how do you know where you will be in eternity? Well, I’m glad that we can know just where we stand on this question. The Word of God, the Bible is plain on this subject. John 5:28-29 “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all (from Adam on down) that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” There are only two classes of people in this world and that is Saints and Sinners, or God’s people who serve Him and Him alone, and the Devil’s people who serve him. (those who commit sin.) 1st John 3:8. That brings another question. How do you know who serves God, and who serves the devil? I’m glad you asked that question. The Bible is plain on this too. Turn with me if you will to 1st John 3:6-10. I won’t write it all down but verse 8 says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil...” Now how much plainer can you get? If you are old enough to know right from wrong, then you know what sin is. If you sin, then you are of the devil. It is just that simple. You can’t be a child of God and a child of the devil at the same time. You might may, “I’m a Saint today and a sinner tomorrow and back again the next day.” No, you’re being foolish, and you know better than that. The next verse says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin;...” No doubt you have been taught that it is impossible to live without sinning more or less everyday. Well, that preacher who taught you that just let you know who he was serving.., the devil. Now get your Bible and check me out and see if this is what it says. Back to my thought again on eternity. According to God’s Holy Word the destination of every soul is determined by his or her deeds or works done here in this life. I might add here also that it does not matter how good a life you have lived, but the condition you are in when you leave this world. Or perhaps Jesus may come before you die. So if we intend to go to Heaven we must be void of offence toward God and man at all times, and be ready to go at any minute. So, the sum of the matter is this... If you sin, you will go into ETERNITY a sinner, into everlasting punishment. (THINK ABOUT IT) But the righteous into life eternal. Matthew 25:46. Soul... think of your own soul which is you. The one who looks through your eyes, the one who thinks with your mind. What is your soul worth? Will you sell your soul to the devil for a few years of pleasure? Are you so foolish to let the devil keep leading you on like this? He says “put it off, put it off. Some other time maybe,” then before you know it... GONE unprepared to meet God. Too late... Please sinner, wake up and open your eyes, your time may be shorter than you think. There is no return from ETERNITY, no release, no pardon, no hope, for ever and for ever, no end, how sad. Get ready today for ETERNITY could be your next move. THINK ABOUT IT. By Joseph Whitehead
