Tract Number 358 Audio download at bottom of page _____________________ Christianity is Un-denominational ‘‘The Church of God is God’s church’’ Sometimes when people ask me, what I am religiously, and I reply that I am a Christian, they seem to think that I am evading the issue. For one to claim to be a Christian, without any “prefixes” is to be branded a fanatic, or an isolationist. “Yes, I know you are a Christian, but, what kind of a Christian? What denomination do you belong to?” I reply, “I do not belong to any. I merely obeyed the Gospel message of Christ, walked in the light, and then, the Lord added me to His Church.” (Acts 2:47) “And the Lord added to THE CHURCH daily such as should be saved.” It is by the Holy Spirit’s action and work in regeneration that the Lord adds us to the family of God. And our names are recorded in God’s Family Record, the Lamb’s Book of Life. In the New Testament days of Christ and the apostles, there were no denominations. However, we do know, - - there was THE CHURCH, Christ built it. (Matthew 16:18). Later on, beginning early in the sixteenth century man began to build denominations. To-day we have hundreds. But, Christ built the church, and not denominations. This makes CHRISTIANITY --- un- denominational. In the Scriptures, the church is referred to as being “the Church of God” in some twelve different passages. No man can join this church, but the Lord can add you to it, when you meet his conditions and requirements, regardless of any, or all denominations. And the requirements are: Confess and forsake your sins, be baptized, be filled with the Holy Spirit, walk in the light, live righteously and godly in this present world, and the Lord adds you, or places you in that spiritual body which is the church to function, for his purpose, and to send the Gospel to others that they, too, might be saved. True,— Christianity is un-denominational! Selected
