Awake! Awake! The Hour is Late!
Revelations 18: 1, 2, “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” Verses 4, 5, “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities…” Verses 22, 23, “And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”
Babylon means confusion. The sectarian system is, and always has been confusing, but the Prophet said Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of the Lord. He said we would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed. Babylon refused to be healed. As light was given, she refused to walk in it; darkness came upon her and those who walked in that light soon made another sect.
In verse 22, we are told that the time will come, and I believe now is, when the sound of the millstone will be heard no more at all in thee (Babylon). 23rd verse, the light of a candle shall be, seen no more at all in thee, the voice of the bridegroom shall be heard no more at all in thee. This tells us that salvation ceases in Babylon, and darkness covers the earthly institution, and gross darkness the people. This is the true condition today.
THE REMNANT
Joel 2: 32, “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.” When the light went out in the sectarian system, and the Mt. Zion Church of God of the 6th Seal Period of time adopted man-rule and set daymen and state men over the congregations of certain districts that they might control from an earthly headquarters, they dimmed this light and it is fast going out.
All the Lord Jesus has got to use and work through, is the remnant whom he hath called. Don’t sell the remnant short, for it is the salt of the earth, and the light of the world. It is the hope of mankind, so far as the human element is concerned, for there is deliverance in the remnant from sin and sectarian bondage.
Proverbs 22: 28, “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” Every time an ancient landmark is removed, the way grows dim. This is why the world is in the condition she is in today at this time in 1966. The remnant is busy searching the scripture finding the ancient landmarks and restoring them along the highway. The sound of the millstone can be heard in the remnant grinding the pure spiritual wheat of God’s word, feeding the souls of men again. Also the light of the candle can be seen in her, pointing the way to Mt. Zion again, and the voice of the bridegroom can be heard in Zion. Thank the Lord!
If there be one or two in a place that reject the compromise and desires the truth, get busy where you are, search the scriptures, and when you find an ancient landmark, let that landmark become alive in everyday life that the light may shine out to others.
Jeremiah 5: 3, “O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth?” The Lord knows when we come to the truth. Psalms 68: 33, “. . .lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.” My sheep hear my voice, and they follow me.” Everyone who hears and obeys his voice, are coming back to the standard of truth. I say, all praise and honor to King Emanuel, the one who is leading the Holy Remnant back to Zion, to the Church of God, the pillar and ground of the truth where the Word and the Spirit work together in the hearts of men to build the Kingdom of God.
