A Mild Description of SIN,
and Its DECEPTION
* * * * * * * * * *
If you could know the power of sin,
And see the trap it has you in;
And how it robs your precious soul,
Of Christ, who waits to make you whole.
If you could see the devil’s grin,
As he tightens his bands to hold you in,
And he laughs at man’s puny attempt.
To make your life from sin exempt.
No man can free your soul from sin,
It’s a trap the devil got you in;
To this hard master you are now a slave,
This is why you so ill behave.
If you don’t think you’re a slave of sin,
A mess the devil got you in,
Just try to master it in your might,
And see how it’s power sets up to fight.
Now you shall see why I’m telling you,
That Satan is master of sin in you;
How this devilish power hates God and truth,
And seeks to destroy age and youth:
Sin gives unrest, and loss of peace;
It’s constant growth you cannot cease;
Until you from your heart confess,
That sin has robbed you of soul rest.
How sin disrupts and ruins a home,
Where you have allowed the devil to roam;
Sin will fill your companion’s eyes with tears,
And little children’s life with fears.
Sin ruins a home, a church, a school,
Whoso covers it is a fool;
For the father of sin, the devil is,
Why not let him have what’s his.
I have a message from God to you,
No matter what Satan tells you to do;
It’s a story that God wants ALL to hear;
He is longing ALL your sin to bear.
We were made for Christ in us to live,
It’s His abode, His place will you give?
The devil has no business there,
Why not let Christ your burdens bear?
He conquered sin upon the cross,
His blood was shed for sin and dross;
While your soul is humbled, look to Him,
And see Him break the chains of sin.
If you respond to the Spirit’s call,
And stifle NOT His voice;
He will become your All in All,
Will you make Jesus NOW your choice?
God through Christ is our ONLY hope,
To have sweet peace and rest;
And under His favor calmly live,
And in Christ daily be blest.
I can recommend my wonderful Lord,
A perfect cure for ALL sin;
Come penitent in Spirit, and leave that trap
Which the devil got you in.

One has spoken these lines
Sin is a monster, of so frightful men (deportment)
To be hated, needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with it’s face,
We first pity, then endure, THEN embrace.

O sinner friend, make your escape from this deadly foe,
while mercy’s door is open. Remember in Noah’s day,
God shut the door of the ark (escape)
and He will do this again for this last time.
