OR
HOLD YOUR PEACE FOREVER
The swiftness with which we are losing our freedom lets us know we may not have long to speak out for God, unless there is a miracle performed.
We must take our stand for truth and righteousness, and stand there even if it means losing our life, or imprisonment.
Where there is no “vision” the people perish. They are perishing on every hand, by great numbers.
I am older than I used to be and I have seen quite a few changes. But God’s Word never changes, it is forever settled in heaven. What once was sin is still sin. God has never smiled on sin, and he never will.
Life in this world is a testing ground. God has set good and evil before us with a reward for each. Heaven, if we choose the good, (or righteous way) Hell, (eternal punishment) if we choose the evil way.
The standard was once lifted high by our ministers, and we saw the work of God blessed and moving forward for God. We saw souls saved, sick bodies healed, God glorified.
The time came when some of our (smart?) ministers began to question as to whether the old brethren hadn’t lifted the standard of righteousness a little too high. They began to lower the standard and say this, and this, isn’t any harm. Some are still searching the Word diligently, not to see how close to God we should walk, but to find “loop holes” and see what they think we can get by with.
We hear quite a bit about tradition. Especially, if we mention what the pioneer brethren taught, and are inclined to believe the truths of their teachings. You are likely to hear someone say, “Well we still have a lot of tradition.” Tradition or no tradition, I know God was with them. God manifested his great power in performing miracles, unstopping deaf ears, opening eyes of the blind, healing T.B. patients given up to die, healing cancer, and even raising the dead. Miracles were performed among them even as in the days of Christ’s ministry here on earth.
I have been healed many times myself in answer to prayer sometimes instantly. The Bible says these signs, (that were mentioned above) shall follow them that believe. Today we hear some say you need not look for any signs. Has the Word of God changed? No indeed and never will. The people who “profess” to be the children of God have made their own standard. We may call ourselves “Church of God” but unless we measure to God’s standard we are taking the name of God in vain. Amen!
When Jesus returns to receive his saints unto himself, it is only those who have stood true to the standard he held and have not defiled themselves with the world, and the inventions of men, that will hear him say come ye blessed of my Father, enter thou into the joys of thy Lord.
I don’t want to miss heaven, do you? Hell is an awful awful place, eternal flames, eternal torment. Men go there by choice or by carelessly drifting along, and before they realize it, life is over time is all gone, for them and they are lost forever and ever. Oh how sad! How sad!
Religion saves no one, unless it is the pure and undefiled Religion. Only one religious group will enter heaven to be with Jesus forever. Believe it or not they didn’t join church. They have experienced a spiritual birth had their names written on God’s roll in heaven, have stayed with Jesus, and walked in the straight and narrow way.
We dare not love the world or the things of the world, nor set our approval on them. We must not be weak kneed about the stand we take. Jesus said, ye cannot serve God and mammon.
God is a jealous God, he wants all of our love, and affection, or none.
It is forbidden in the Word of God to serve or have other Gods. Today you find them in the homes of the “so called” saints. An invention of man that provides all kinds of sinful worldly entertainment and amusement that will sap the soul of spirituality. Some even go to this garbage can to try to get spiritual help from false prophets.
If you will read the old testament you will see how the Israelites would drift away from the true God to idolatry, also how God took his hand of blessing off of them. They even put their idols in the house of God. Their idol gods could not talk and convey a message to them. In our day the modern god can speak, sing, dance, drink, murder, and sin, you name it, he can demonstrate it, not in some secluded corner, but to the whole world and in your house, to your children.
Just a short time back I read in the Paper of a group of people of a certain denomination (eleven of them in number) took their televisions (their gods) out to the church yard and burned them. They said they (TV) were destroying their children. As I read this article I groaned in the Spirit and said, God pity the poor church of God.
Some will say, Oh, come on now, you know there is some good on TV. I say let the birds have It. As for me I will worship the Lord and him only will I serve.
The Word of God says to abstain from the very appearance of evil, to me TV appears to be evil. I cannot recommend it to anyone young or old. The Word says draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. We draw nigh to God by prayer, bible reading, and meditation on spiritual things.
It is a sad pitiful condition the religious world is in. We need something to build us up in the most holy faith, instead of destroying our faith in God. I trust these few lines will cause someone to want to get closer to God. Jesus will soon appear will you be ready? May God help us to search our hearts.
