THE CHURCH OF GOD, WHAT WE BELIEVE
Dear Friend:
We believe everything the Bible teaches. But we want you to know a little about what we believe the Bible teaches. Based upon these statements, we hope you will desire to obey, serve and worship God with us. In all humbleness and meekness we desire to be part of and a witness of the true Church of God which Jesus Christ purchased with His own blood. We believe our congregation is a true representative of the Church of God as described by the New Testament.
"FORASMUCH as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us," (Luke 1:1). "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32).
We believe:
1. The Trinity: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
2. Willful sin separates a person from God.
3. Godly Sorrow and Repentance must precede reconciliation to God.
4. Forgiveness and Regeneration will follow true repentance.
5. Justification is the term used to refer to the first work of grace in salvation.
6. A carnal nature is the inbred and inherited sin nature which is the root of sin.
7. Sanctification is the term used for the second work of grace in salvation wherein a person is purged from the carnal sin nature and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise enabling the sanctified believer to consistently/continually live holy.
8. Jesus built one church and all the believers should dwell in unity.
9. That Holiness is both a perfected heart condition and a perfecting work.
10. Baptism by immersion symbolically represents the death and resurrected life of the true believer in Christ.
11. Feet washing is a sacramental ordinance commanded by Christ.
12. The Lord's Supper is also a sacramental ordinance commanded by Christ
13. Divine Healing is part of the inheritance promised to the children of God.
14. The fervent prayer of a righteous person will activate the power of God.
15. Faith, Hope and Charity are mainstays of our daily walk with Christ.
16. Christian giving which includes tithing is the natural desire of every Christian.
17. God gives daily divine inspiration to His faithful children.
18. The King James Bible best represents God's inspired and infallible Word.
19. Membership in the true Church of God can only occur through being born again by faith in Jesus Christ.
20. God adds to and blots out of His Book of Life according to His righteous judgment of our faith and works.
21. The Holy Bible is our only creed book; all other works are partial and incomplete.
