Tract 101 Audio download at bottom of page ________________ “NO MAN CARETH FOR MY SOUL” (Psalms 142:4) In one of our cemeteries the body of a fifteen year old girl, who was not a Christian, was being lowered into the grave. Her teacher remembered that, although she had been her teacher for two years, she had never had an earnest private conversation with Mary for the purpose of trying to lead her to Christ. When she returned home from the funeral she could not rest; and going to the pastor, she made her confession and asked if he had ever had a conversation with Mary to try to lead her to Christ. The pastor broke down and wept and said that he had often thought of trying to lead the girl to Christ, but had been kept so busy with his pastoral visits, that he had never talked with the girl. The teacher and pastor then went to the family residence of the girl, and, calling for the father, made their confession and asked the father if he had ever talked to her about salvation. The father broke down weeping and said he had often thought of talking to his child to lead her to Christ, but had been so busy with his business affairs that he had never done it. The mother was called and asked the same question. She began wringing her hands in anguish, and said she had often considered talking to the girl, but had been so busy with her household affairs that she had neglected it. This girl had slipped through the hands of the four nearest to her, into eternity, without one earnest effort being made for her salvation. This is not an isolated case; it is constantly being duplicated all over our land. May God help us! —Selected
